The presence of the Lord is something that, when we really stop and think about it, can be overwhelming. Psalm 139:7 says, “Where can I go from Your spirit? Where can I flee from your presence?” At first glance, I wondered why David was talking about getting away from God. Why would we run from Him? In reality, David is recognizing how His Spirit and presence is surrounding us all the time.

This idea that we can have Jesus anywhere and anytime is so incredible to me. What a God! How cool is it that our God is so intentional with His children? We don’t have to search for Him, and we don’t have to try and figure out where His Spirit is. We don’t have to be in a specific building, with certain people, or even doing anything special to feel His presence – it’s simply there. Just as it is a blessing that God is with us always, it is just as much of a blessing that hiding from our Creator is not an even option. He hears us, He sees us, and He knows us. What David was really touching on was the fact that there is not a single place we could “flee” to where God would not meet us.

Whatever season of life you are walking through – whether that is the excitement of a new chapter or a fresh start, or feeling like everything is falling apart – God is walking you through it. He is near, He goes before you, and you don’t have to lead yourself. Exodus 33:14 tells us, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” How comforting is that? We don’t have to make our own way because He prepares the way for us and our rest comes from HIM and Him alone.

I will forever be amazed at the fact that He is such an intentional Father in everything He does as we continue to walk with Him through it all.
