The gospel is called the Good News for a reason. It’s the news of endless love, a perfect sacrifice, and reconciliation into a relationship with our Creator. The heart of the gospel is transformation, not just information. And God calls us to speak boldly – not to tear down, but to build up. Not to separate, but to unite. Paul’s boldness came from God’s work in his life and a purpose given to him to strengthen and unite the Church. He reminded the Roman believers that the Holy Spirit is for everyone. It sanctifies all people – Jew and Gentile alike. That same calling, to unite others and spread the gospel to everyone, is on us. We must speak courageously, pointing people back to Jesus, reminding the church that we belong to God together.
Sharing the gospel isn’t casual; it is a service to the Kingdom of God. It’s a message for all people, and a shared truth that brings us together. We are all sinners in need of a Savior. Unity is something God does through the gospel, because it brings us together through the darkness, into God’s eternal love and light. Therefore, God calls us to share the good news and call others out of the darkness, to instead run straight towards him. It is by God’s grace that we have the opportunity to share the gospel, so what is stopping us? Let us unite as believers to pursue God and share his love with the world.
Unity begins small. It starts when you choose to encourage instead of criticize. When you pray for the person you’re frustrated with. When you speak up for what Jesus has done for you, even if your voice shakes. Doing this strengthens our own relationship with the Lord by allowing him to guide us through our thoughts and conversations, while following his commandment to proclaim the good news. We can grow in our connection to Christ, while leading others to him.
God’s mercy gives us the confidence to be bold. Not because we’re perfect, but because the Spirit is alive in us. The people around you don’t need fancy words, they need real reminders that Jesus loves them, saves them, and brings us together.
So, ask yourself today: Where is God asking me to speak boldly? How can I point others back to him? Where can I bring encouragement instead of division to remind others of the unity we have in Christ?

Father, thank you for the gift of the gospel that unites us as one body under Christ. Forgive me for the times I have stayed silent when I should have spoken boldly, or when I’ve used my words to divide instead of build up. Help me to proclaim your name for the purpose of growing closer to you and sharing your goodness with others. Give me the courage to step out in faith and follow your guidance to unite those around me. Let my words always point people back to you and bring the hope of Jesus with love and grace. Thank you for giving me the chance to share your sacrificial love with those around me. In your holy name I pray, Amen.
