Sunday Prayer Prompt - May 18, 2025

“Once, having been asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, Jesus replied, ‘The kingdom of God does not come with your careful observation, nor will people say, “Here it is,” or “There it is”’ because the kingdom of God is within you’” (Luke 17:20-21, NIV).

Today is the very day we serve in the name of Jesus. Over the last four weeks you have read about how God can use you to impact the physical world around you, the effect of your emotional connections with others, the spiritual influence we can help cultivate, and how it all ties together to impact future generations experiencing God’s Kingdom on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Just like the Pharisees, people are looking for impact or meaning within their own lives and in the outside world around them. And Jesus responds to this head on – life isn’t about a show of miracles or following the crowd; it’s about being redeemed and restored to Him. And the outcome? In Romans 14:17 it states, “For the kingdom of God is not of eating and drinking but of righteousness, peace, and joy in the Holy Spirit.”

As you go about serving those around you today, ask the Lord what it means to bring His Kingdom to each and every person you encounter. If you aren’t able to serve through Impact Alaska today, you can still pray! Ask the Lord in what ways you can allow Him to work through you today to bring His Kingdom to those around you.
