Have you ever heard someone say something like this: Oh, that was such a "God thing."
If you've never heard this, just hang around church people for a bit longer, and you probably will! I've said it myself before, and there's nothing wrong with this sentiment. Except that sometimes it makes me think - but isn't it all a "God thing"?
Romans 1 tells us that the gospel is the power of God and that through it - through Jesus - so much about God has been illuminated to the world. And what we find is that, if we have eyes to see it, everything in our world is a God thing! The trick, of course, is this: are you looking?
Take a moment this morning to ask God to reveal himself to you in a new way today, to shine his light on the areas of your light that have felt dim and devoid of his presence. Maybe that means you see him moving in the life of a friend or family member in a way you hadn't noticed before. Maybe you look for him in your work this week, especially if your work is a place you usually associate with the secular rather than the spiritual. Wherever it is for you, know this - he's everywhere and in everything! May we have the eyes to see and give him all praise today!
