Helping you connect with God every day.

Sunday Prayer Prompt - Aug 31, 2025

Romans 13:8 says, "Owe nothing to anyone—except for your obligation to love one another. If you love your neighbor, you will fulfill the requirements of God’s law" (NLT).

I don't know about you, but I don't love being obligated to someone. We like our freedom, right? But when things fall apart, we need someone to be tied to us. We need the hand of a friend to pull us up.

Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor: If either of them falls down, one can help the other up. But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up."  And verse 12 reminds us, "A cord of three strands is not quickly broken."

It's tempting to go it alone, but when we embrace the obligation to love one another, we're choosing wisdom and answering the call of God on our lives. Who is the one in your life to whom you're feeling more of an obligation than authentic love? Bring that struggle to God this morning, asking him to give you HIS love for that person where your own falls short.
